The first race between Akio Asakura (Devil Z) and Tatsuya Shima (Blackbird). Watched it just the other day and I totally loved this movie, it has to be one of my top favorites. Also if you haven't seen Initial D I highly recommend that too.

Initial d and wangan midnight are very different.

Initial D is about drifting on mountain roads while Wangan Midnight is about street racing on highways. Both have different approach on the race. Initial D is more focused about the turns and corner skill while Wangan Midnight emphasize speed and long straight highway driving.
Imagine putting eurobeat in the live action Wangan Midnight movie but not the live action Initial D movie… when Initial D is the one known for eurobeat? Lol
